Legends Global, a leader in the management of public assembly facilities, is currently recruiting Short Order and Line Cooks to join the Food Services team at Slush Puppie Place. Positions are available across our concession stands, Club Lounge and restaurant for the current hockey season and upcoming events.

This role is responsible for preparing and producing menu items across our concessions, Club Lounge and restaurant, while maximizing efficiency and service and maintaining high standards for food quality and presentation.

Main Responsibilities

Prepare, clean, stock and support food production throughout the venue in accordance with company standards.
Receive verbal food orders from front counter staff.
Prepare and produce menu items according to customer orders.
Maintain quality control and production standards for all food served in the concession stands, Club Lounge and restaurant.
Minimize food waste.
Maintain a clean, safe and organized work environment while following sanitation and health and safety standards.
Complete standard closing duties, including cleaning work areas, properly storing food products, cleaning and putting away utensils, and sweeping and mopping floors at the end of each shift.
Consistently provide superior customer service during demanding and fast-paced events, including hockey games, concerts, entertainment and family events.
Maintain a professional presentation, appearance and work ethic.
Perform other duties as assigned, including moving between service areas and working with managers to support the effective execution of a variety of events at Slush Puppie Place.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.
Minimum of two years of line cook or related kitchen experience.
Ability to speak, read and write in English.
Valid Safe Food Handler Certificate or equivalent is required.
Valid Smart Serve Certificate is required.
Ability to work independently and as part of a kitchen brigade.
Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced and event-driven environment.
Ability to manage and complete multiple tasks.
Ability to communicate clearly, professionally and respectfully with teammates, volunteers, management staff and guests while contributing to a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and remain standing for extended periods.
Availability to work most Friday evenings, some Sundays and additional shifts as needed based on the venue’s event schedule.
WHMIS Certificate is considered an asset.
Professional presentation, appearance and work ethic.
Related experience in quick service, concessions or restaurant services is considered an asset.
Ability to work varying hours as part of a part-time, seasonal contract.

Physical Effort

This position requires the ability to lift up to 25 lbs, as well as frequent standing and walking for extended periods. The role also requires stooping and the manual dexterity necessary to safely operate food production equipment.

Working Conditions

Work is primarily performed in concession outlets, the Club Lounge or kitchen areas throughout Slush Puppie Place. The position requires flexibility to work according to the venue’s event schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
