The Kingston Frontenacs are hosting Women in Sports Night on Saturday, January 28th at Leon’s Centre when the team welcomes the London Knights to town.
The night will celebrate the accomplishments of women in sports and look to inspire the next generation of superstar athletes and leaders in our community. We are excited to have special guests, Janine Charron and Jackie Jarrell join us and be a part of the event. Both women will take part in a ceremonial puck drop and be available for a meet and greet with fans.
Janine Charron
Former National Women’s Hockey League Player
Janine is the creator of the T.I.G.E.R. method, a breast cancer survivor, the founder of iNSiDE Out STUDiO Barre, a former National Women’s Hockey League and NCAA Division 1 Ice Hockey player, an inspirational speaker, a writer and a mother of three.
The T.I.G.E.R. method is a system to help people bridge the gap between where they are and where they want to be, helping them align their actions with their ambitions. Janine believes all it takes is a spark to transform someone’s life and her mission is to be that spark for millions worldwide.
Jackie Jarrell
Team Canada’s Inline Hockey Captain and Two-time World Champion
Jackie had a full NCAA Division 1 Ice Hockey Scholarship to Mercyhurst University while earning a Bachelor of Science in Sports Medicine and a master’s degree in Exercise Science.
During her time at Mercyhurst University, Jackie won 4 straight regular seasons and playoff College Hockey America Championships and made 3 NCAA appearances. She is Team Canada’s Inline Hockey Captain and has played for Team Canada in 12 World Championships. She is a two-time World Champion and has won 10 World Championship Medals (2 Gold,6 Silver, 2 Bronze Medals). In 2012, she led the World Championships in scoring and was named the Top Player in the World.
She is the Owner & President of Gold Performance Training where she works as a Registered Kinesiologist and Strength & Conditioning Coach. She signed her first NHL contract this season and currently works as a Fitness Consultant with the N.H.L. Officiating Department.
