“The Queen’s Commerce vs. Engineering Rivalry Game is an event that unites our community through the game of hockey and raises important funds and awareness to support those currently battling, living with, and moving past cancer,” said Kate Sheedy and Justin Tanenbaum, CCC’s co-chairs, “We thank everyone in the Queen’s and Kingston communities for their support as well as our numerous sponsors and partners who have joined us in our effort to drop the gloves against cancer.”
The Commerce vs. Engineering Rivalry Hockey Game dates back to 2017 as part of the Cure Cancer Classic’s annual schedule of fundraising events and has quickly become a seasonal highlight for both players and fans alike.
The Queen’s Commerce vs. Engineering Rivalry game is hosted by the Cure Cancer Classic, a student-run not-for-profit organization at Queen’s University with a mission to raise money through various hockey tournaments and fundraising events throughout the year.
“The Canadian Cancer Society is so appreciative and fortunate to be working closely with the Cure Cancer Classic team again this year,” said Doug Kane, the Canadian Cancer Society director of independent fundraising and sports alliances.
“They are an extremely dedicated and passionate group of students having a significant impact on the cancer landscape. The funds they raise support the amazing cancer research being conducted at the Canadian Cancer Trials Group located here in Kingston.”
The Cure Cancer Classic would like to thank our terrific sponsors for their continued support in our efforts to drop the gloves with cancer.
